PANJIM: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Town and Country Planning Francis D’Souza on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly that the Regional Plan 2021 will be notified by December 31, 2015.
D’Souza said that the plan of Canacona and Pernem will be notified first and they will be followed by Sattari and the mining belt. He mentioned that as Salcete has the most objections and suggestions the plan for this taluka would be notified last.
The minister assured that zoning of fields, agricultural land, eco-sensitive areas, forest, private forest, sloppy land, khazan land will not be converted.
He said that all 3500 objections and suggestions will be reviewed by the department. He wondered how, despite due care while drafting the Regional Plan, such a large number of mistakes had taken place.
The minister said that at some places there are no mistakes while at others there are plenty of mistakes and wondered if it was done on purpose.
