PANJIM: In line with meetings in other places people are likely to have to pay Rs 5 to attend the meeting of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi slated for January 12, BJP sources said. Modi`s Vijay Sankalp Rally at Panjim will be on January 12 at 4 pm.
Modi has been addressing meetings all over and this Modi-style of innovative fund raising was first tried in Hyderabad – the first public meeting in the south after becoming the BJP’s chairman of the campaign committee. The Hyderabad meeting also launched of the party’s poll campaign for the 2014 elections in south India.
The BJP in the State already has one MP and with the Congress in disarray, it is targeting the south Goa seat too — given that it has allies in independent MLA in many constituencies in the South.
The BJP has already finalized its MP candidates – official announcement still to be done – sitting MP Shripad Naik in North Goa and South Goa Narendra Sawaikar.
However, the BJP has some rumblings within its ranks with one of its MLAs Vishnu Wagh raising the banner of revolt amidst indications of offers to stand on the NCP or Congress ticket for North Goa.
Meanwhile, Modi and a galaxy of leaders are likely to come for Parrikar’s son wedding tomorrow.
