CALANGUTE: Two Russian tourists, both in their thirties, were rescued over the weekend by lifesavers after they got caught in a rip current off Baga beach, while three children who had gone missing at Candolim beach were found and reunited with their parents.

An eight-year-old child from Hubballi, Karnataka, who had accidentally strayed from Candolim onto the adjoining Calangute beach after getting separated from his parents was reunited with them by lifesavers.
In another incident, two children, aged five and 11, from Chhattisgarh, who had accidentally separated from their parents, were found wandering on the beach by themselves by a lifesaver and were reunited with their parents at Candolim beach after completing formal identification formalities.
Baga beach also witnessed the rescue of a 33-year-old man from Ahmednagar who had waded into the sea with a friend, but was unable to exit the water after he was caught in a rip tide. Lifesavers rushed to his rescue and brought him ashore. At Calangute beach, a 32-year-old person from Madhya Pradesh was saved from drowning by a lifesaver with the help of a rescue board.
Meanwhile, Karnataka tourist was left injured at the Benaulim beach after he was attacked by three stray dogs.
