Sanguem residents call for fogging to prevent disease

SANGUEM: The citizens from Sanguem led by former Youth Congress president Messiah D’Costa have urged the local Primary Health Centre to immediately carry out fogging in the town and its surroundings areas to prevent outbreak of water borne diseases.
Applauding the Primary Health Centre for undertaking the fogging last year in all the ten wards of the Sanguem Municipal Council, D’Costa urged the PHC to undertake similar operations during the current year before any water borne disease strikes Sanguem.
Highlighting the recent death of a 23-year-old youth from Vasco due to Dengue, D’Costa claimed that these diseases take no time in spreading to any areas; as such, he said that fogging in town area needs to be done immediately.
Last year, the PHC had undertaken fogging and prevented outbreak of water borne diseases in the town area. It is in the same light that D’Costa and other citizens from the town area have appealed to the authorities for immediate fogging in the town area.
D’Costa said that a few places in the town area are prone to breeding of mosquitoes and this could be dangerous for the life of the people living in that area if the same are not cleared before any dreadful disease breaks out in the locality.
