MARGAO: A 28-year-old woman from Sarzora died after a minibus collided into her scooter near the Margao KTC bus stand on Monday.
According to Margao Police, the incident occurred at around 2.35 pm; the minibus driver Melvin Fernandes (31), a resident of Uguem, Sanguem, drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from the Old Market, Margao, towards the KTC bus stand, and near the bus stand, he collided into a Dio scooter that was proceeding from Ambaji to the Old Market. The scooter rider Vini Fernandes (28), a resident of Novembhat, Sarzora, sustained grievous injuries and later died.
Margao Police have registered offences against Fernandes under Sections 279 and 304-A of IPC. Further investigation is in progress.
