Satish Dhond returns as organising secretary

PANJIM: In a bid to keep the local party flock together, Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to bring back Satish Dhond as organising secretary in Goa.
Touted as Goa’s Amit Shah, Dhond was transferred out of Goa in July 2015, when Laxmikant Parsekar was chief minister, and posted in two other regions to strengthen the party base there.
BJP State General Secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade confirmed the news to Herald. “Yes, it is true, Dhond will take charge from tomorrow,” he said.
Tanawade, however, said that Dhond will jointly hold charge with Vijay Rao Puranik, who is currently holding additional charge of Goa along with Maharashtra.
Dhond, currently in charge of the Konkan region and Thane district, will make a comeback to the State at a time when the BJP core-committee and legislative wing appear to be in a disarray with the feud between president Vinay Tendulkar and Parsekar spilling into the open.
Besides, there have been statements from Dy Speaker and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo on many issues and Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on the mining front.
