Early this morning, a 30-year-old scooter rider from Guirim was injured after colliding with a stationary Mapusa Municipal Council garbage truck on the main road at Peddem. Sources said the truck had broken down since yesterday and had not been removed from the road.
The rider reportedly failed to notice the vehicle in time and crashed into it, sustaining injuries. He was immediately taken to the District Hospital in Mapusa and later referred to Goa Medical College for further treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident and have urged the public to exercise caution on roads with stalled vehicles.
