PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said that 90 per cent work for the St Francis Xavier Exposition has been completed and the rest will be over by November 15.
Speaking to reporters after holding a review meeting along with Exposition Committee Vice-Chairman and Minister Aleixo Sequeira and other officials, the Chief Minister said the exposition will be grand and transportation facilities will be enhanced.
“I reviewed work for the Exposition. If you see the work preparation, 90 per cent of that is over now. Whatever work is left will be completed by November 15. The work has involvement of Police, Public Works Department (PWD), Fire and Emergency Services (FES) and Health Department,” he said, adding he will again hold a review meeting of the work either on November 17 or 18.
He said this year’s Exposition will be more grand and easily accessible to the people and transport facilities will be made available to the pilgrims.
When his attention was drawn towards the bad road conditions of roads, he said whether it is Chimbel or Ribandar, all roads will be repaired within the next eight to ten days.
Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira said,” We inspected the place and was that the works are progressing. It is our responsibility to ensure that everything is in place before the Exposition. Target of completion of the work is November 10.”
