Before leaving for Mumbai, the Spokesperson of Shiv Sena (Shinde) Deepak Kesarkar addressed a press conference. He said, “It’s a proud day for the people of Maharashtra where the son of a farmer from Satara has become Chief Minister”. He said that CM Shinde will make Maharashtra “farmer suicide free”. “It is not enough to write off farmer loans but also offer help”, Kesarkar, who is also an MLA from neighbouring Sawantwadi, said.
