PANJIM: Second year electronic engineering students – twins Deeptesh and Dipesh Neshari of SREIT Engineering College, Shiroda – designed and presented a drone in the form of a bird with a fabulous concept and revolutionary usability, at the Science Film Festival of India organised by Vidhyan Parishad.
“This project took a lot of effort. We have been working on it since October 2021. Before we began with it, we spent three months researching the project. Although it can fly, this project is still in its nascent programming stage,” Deeptesh said.

The idea was conceptualised after the boys were inspired by cartoons and Bollywood movie, Uri. They said that the bird can be used by the defence forces for surveillance or by airlines to ward off birds flying in the way of an aircraft.
Addressing the students at the film festival Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant urged teachers to collaborate with science institutes in the State to inspire students to pursue a career in science. “Science teachers should take the initiatives to visit institutes with young students and create more scientists in the State,” Sawant said.
