Owner Syed Irfan said the police have failed to nab the culprits involved in the burglaries of his establishment. As usual, the Margao police requisitioned a sniffer dog and finger print experts to assist in the investigations, but in vain.

The culprits are believed to have effected entry into the shop by removing the roof tiles and later breaking open the ceiling roof. If Irfan is to be believed, the miscreants lifted away Jeans, T-Shirts, shorts from the shop, causing a loss of Rs two lakh.

Following the incident, a number of shop owners felt that Margao police headed by PI Sudesh Naik should intensify patrolling along the station road. They demanded that police higher ups should conduct surprise checks on night patrol personnel given the presence of migrants along the station road.
