Major junctions in main Pernem city as well as major roads in villagers were under the radar of Pernem police. While some grocery shops were opened by the vendors in few parts of the taluka, the shops were later shut down by the police since some of the customers who had visited the stores to buy essential commodities were not adhering to the social distancing norm.

Meanwhile, Pernem Farmers Service Cooperative Society decided to carry out home delivery of the essential commodities with the help of volunteers all across the taluka from Saturday onwards.
