PANJIM: Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik, recuperating in the hospital following a road accident over a month ago, will be discharged within the next three to four days, according to GMC Dean Dr Shivanand Bandekar.
Bandekar said Naik, who underwent treatment in the GMC, has recovered and will be discharged either on Monday or Tuesday.
Naik was seriously injured while his wife Vijaya and a close aide had died in the accident which occurred near Ankola in Karnataka on January 11 this year. The accident occurred when the car in which they were travelling overturned while proceeding from Yallapur to Gokarn.
A week later Naik had hoped that he would be discharged soon and had also resumed work from the hospital.
Meanwhile, the charge of Ministry of AYUSH was temporarily allocated to Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
