At a meeting held on Tuesday at the Gram Panchayat Hall in Shristhal, concerned citizens of Canacona Taluka unanimously resolved that the Government, especially the Revenue Department, must visit Canacona and explain the benefits of including the taluka in the proposed new district.
The people expressed strong opposition to any move made without proper consultation, stating they will resist such inclusion if it causes inconvenience. If the Government fails to justify the decision, Canacona residents will oppose it vehemently.
