PANJIM: Seeking to put a halt on speculations after a Facebook Post by high profile singer Remo Fernandes, AAP said that it had still not received his resignation even as it announced that national leader Manish Sisodia would be campaigning in Goa next week. The party also announced that it would release two separate manifestos covering for north and south districts.
Speaking at a press conference today, AAP said that they would seek to concentrate and expose the scams that the national parties the Congress and the BJP were involved in.
“We will expose the BJP and Congress, scams they are involved in,” AAP leader Dinesh Vaghela said.
Asked about veteran singer Remo Fernandes’ resignation from the party, the leader said “He is presently not in India. We will talk to him…his resignation has not come to us. He is still in the party,” he said.
The Aam Aadmi Party (Goa) announced that national leader of AAP, Shri Manish Sisodia will address the people of Goa at a public meeting at Azad Maidan, Panaji on Saturday, March 29th at 5.00 pm.
Sisodia, a former journalist was cabinet minister of education, PWD, urban development, local bodies, and land & building in the AAP Government in Delhi.
Vaghelaalso criticized the Chief Minister for his comments regarding the police. It may be recalled that, in response to a question by a student at a BJP convention regarding the inordinate delay in making arrests in the case of illegal mining exposed by the Shah Commission, the CM said that “The Goa Police (officers) are scared”.
AAP said that such a Government, which has lost the ability to give confidence to its police force, does not deserve to be in power even for a minute longer.
AAP also pointed out that the opposition party is asleep, or is pretending to be asleep and other than a rare occasion or two, it has not been visible in doing its duty of following up on various issues of law and order, corruption etc. in the present Government, thus confirming the suspicion in the minds of the people that Congress and BJP are no different from each other.
In response to a question by a reporter, Dr Oscar Rebello welcomed the recent appeal by the CSJP to vote for secularism and reject corporate and communal interests, while clarifying that AAP agrees with CSJP’s comments as a social body and not in a religious context.
Dr Rebello also stated that a lot of the issues raised by the CSJP are already a core part of AAP’s agenda such as those relating to institutions such Lokayukta & Information Commission, or the rampant marginalization of indigenous people by corporate interests.
Dr Rebello also said AAP is also in complete agreement with the CSJP’s statement in regard to the “myth” of certain good governance models that are being presented to society to mislead them.
