PANJIM: As questioning into illegal mining cases resumed on Wednesday, Special Investigation Team (SIT) had to leave the investigation halfway when Arjun Salgaoncar, one of the directors of Salgaoncar Mining Industries Ltd, complained of chest pains and had to be shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital.
“He was picked from his office at Altinho and brought to Crime Branch office, Ribandar for questioning. He then complained of chest pain. The officials called the ambulance and he was shifted to GMC wherein doctors found that he had high BP,” said a police source. The businessman was later shifted to Manipal hospital at Dona Paula.
