In yet another disturbing incident that threatens to further dent Goa’s image as a safe and welcoming tourist destina tion, Six visitors from Vara nasi were brutally assault ed by bouncers at a popular nightclub in Vagator late on Saturday night. According to reports, a mi nor disagreement inside the club spiralled into shocking vi olence when several bouncers allegedly attacked the tourists, leaving multiple members of the group — including wom en — seriously injured. The victims were rushed for med ical treatment and a formal complaint has been lodged at the Anjuna Police Station. Police have launched an investigation and begun recording statements from the victims. One of the victims, Vaibha vi Chandel, narrated the hor rifying ordeal to reporters. “We had come to Goa three days ago on a trip. We went to a club and had food, but the staff misbehaved with us. We didn’t want any drama, so we apologised. When we were leaving after paying the bill, my brother accidentally hit a chair. This angered the manager, who began hitting my brother,” she said. Vaibhavi alleged that the manager then summoned a large group of bouncers and staff members. “Around 20–25 bouncers and staff came and started beating us.

They claimed my brother had hit a waiter, but that’s not true. Male bouncers even assaulted us women. Six people from our group were bleeding. It was terrify ing,” she added. The distraught tourist demanded strict action and warned that such incidents could destroy Goa’s hard earned reputation. “We demand that this club be shut down. We have been visiting Goa for ten years because we love this place. But if such attacks continue, it will destroy Goa’s image. Goa’s economy depends on tourism — please respect tourists, and we will respect you,” Vaibhavi said emotionally. Police confirmed that Vaibhavi Chandel has lodged a for mal complaint against Ajay Kavtikar, the manager of the restaurant, alleging that he verbally abused her and her family members and, along with Junaid Ali and other secu rity staff, physically assaulted Shivansh Singh and others. The complaint further states that an unidentified secu rity staffer struck Yuvraj Chandel with an iron pole on his chest and back, causing serious injuries. When Vaibhavi intervened, she was allegedly slapped and her T-shirt was pulled. Another family member, Shivangi Singh, was re portedly pushed on her chest, causing her to fall and suffer humiliation.
