TIVIM: Tivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar on Tuesday inaugurated the works of two sluice gates at Damedem-Tivim. estimated at about Rs 9 lakh and to be completed within 50 days.
Speaking to Herald, a resident, Michael Alvares, said in June 2013, the sluice gates were broken and the Damedem Khazan Association Committee planned to build the sluice gates. “We approached our local MLA, who agreed to construct the two sluice gates and today the works were inaugurated.”
Tivim Church Parish Priest Fr Matheus Rodrigues offered prayers, while a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
Kandolkar requested the villagers to come forward with requests pertaining to the development of the village.
He said only after receiving NOCs from all concerned developments can take place through proper procedures.
