‘Smart City road stretch works will be completed by May 31’

PANJIM: The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) chief executive officer and managing director Sanjit Rodrigues, on Thursday, reiterated that the road stretch works, including the Ribandar-Old Goa route, will be completed by May 31, 2024.

Speaking to reporters after holding a review meeting, Rodrigues said, “More or less we are on track and we will be able to complete the works by the end of the month. We are targeting the opening of the road by May 31. In certain cases curing is there. Curing time is there for concrete roads. We normally keep it for 15 days.”

To a question, Rodrigues said, “We have received an IMD report which has forecast that rains will start from June 11 or 12. Some work may get hampered as concreting work will have to be stopped completely during the rains, but I am positive. I feel that major road works in central Panjim will be done,” he said.
