MARGAO: A day after fire broke out at Sonsodo waste dumping site, fire fighting operation was still underway at the site on Tuesday. The Margao Municipal Council has deployed men and machinery at the site to cap the affected site with mud. MMC CO Y B Tawde informed that the process of covering the site with mud to extinguish the fire will be complete by Tuesday evening. He said
the civic body has intimated the district disaster management about the incident. “We have informed the district collector so that the disaster management agency could be involved in the exercise if situation warrants,”
Tawde said.
