Superintendent of Police (South) Santosh Dessai has retired from service, marking the end of his tenure in the South Goa Police District.
Following his retirement, the government has assigned additional responsibilities to SP Railways Shekhar Prabhudessai, who will hold charge of the South Goa Police District as well as the Kushavati Police District until further orders.
The arrangement has been made to ensure the smooth functioning of policing and administrative responsibilities in the two districts pending further appointments or transfers.
During his service, Santosh Dessai held several key positions within the Goa Police and played an important role in maintaining law and order in South Goa.
Officials stated that Prabhudessai will continue to oversee railway policing while simultaneously managing the additional responsibilities entrusted to him.
Further administrative decisions regarding the permanent appointment of a Superintendent of Police for the South Goa and Kushavati Police Districts are expected to be announced in due course.
