State aims to replace govt vehicles in 2 years: CM

PANJIM: Giving an update on the plans to promote the use of electric vehicles, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the State aims at replacing all govt vehicles in one to two years time. 

Sawant was speaking at the inauguration of the extension of the Hegdewar Education Institute at Cujira, Bambolim on Monday.

He said the work is already being undertaken by Power Department where one such electric vehicle had already been purchased. 

The CM also asserted that soon Goa will be known as an education hub and destination as opposed to being famous only for tourism. 

Emphasizing on the efforts taken during his tenure, he said after his government passed the Private Education Bill, three to four education societies had already approached the department for setting up their institutes in Goa.
