PANJIM: A suspected case of dengue was reported at Mala, Panjim. However, the patient has already been discharged.
Deputy Director National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Dr Anant Palyekar said a boy from Mala was admitted in the government-run hospital after being diagnosed with dengue.
“However, he has already been discharged and there is nothing to worry about,” Palyekar said.
He said nodal persons visit houses and various sites in the premises at least once a week to identify the breeding sites and to take necessary action accordingly viz. checking of lids of overhead water tanks, water leakages leading to water accumulation, checking for unwanted, discarded containers, etc.
Palyekar has urged people to ensure cleanliness in and around their houses and colonies.
