PANJIM: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar once again indirectly lashed out at Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude saying in politics you cannot keep quiet and remain like a saint.
Speaking to reporters in the city, Tawadkar said, there is personally no dispute between him and Gaude. “It’s hard to tell what’s on someone’s mind. But acting like a saint does not work in politics. If an ant bothers repeatedly, it has to be crushed. It is not wrong to be proactive to protect yourself,” Tawadkar said.

Recently, Tawadkar had decided to construct some houses in the Priol constituency, which is represented by Minister Govind Gaude, through his ‘Shramadham’ scheme. This annoyed Gaude and who expressed displeasure over Tawadkar inviting Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) president Deepak Dhavalikar who happens to be his political rival.
In February this year, a feud had developed between Tawadkar and Gaude when the former accused the latter of misuse of funds. However, the issue was resolved after intervention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade.
