A bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and A K Sikri, however, expressed unhappiness that the trial proceedings had been stalled and asked Tejpal’s counsel to start advancing arguments on framing of charges in the case.
Tejpal had moved the SC challenging the session court order to proceed with the arguments on the charges against him, in the case.
The appeal contended that the Session court while passing the order on December 23, 2014 was conscious of the “recklessness” shown by the prosecutionin flouting statutory requirements that are obligatory such as providing all necessary documents.
Tejpal has been charge sheeted for allegedly raping a junior colleague.
