Tempo goes up in flames after hitting pole

MARGAO, AUG 18 A Matador Tempo went up in flames after it rammed against an electric pole near the toll naka at Borim bridge late Tuesday evening. The three occupants of the ill-fated vehicle, however, escaped unharmed after they were rescued by the locals, the police said.

The three occupants of the ill-fated vehicle, however, escaped unharmed after they were rescued by the locals, the police said.
The incident occurred around 8.45 pm when the Tempo heading towards Margao from Borim suddenly went off the road and rammed against a roadside electric pole. The  vehicle  immediately caught fire following a short circuit due to the impact of the incident.
As the vehicle caught fire, locals came to the rescue of the three occupants who were helped to get out and run for safety.
Maina Curtorim PSI Samant informed that the occupants had a miraculous escape after the vehicle was completely burn down in the fire.
He said the police, which received information at around 8.45 pm immediately alerted the fire brigade, adding that traffic on the Margao-Borim road was cleared after disruption for quite some time. The vehicle has since been towed away from the road.
The police are investigating.
