PONDA: Ten tourists from Bangalore were injured on Wednesday after the bus they were travelling in fell on its side when the driver lost control of the vehicle as he made an attempt to save stray cattle loitering on the road at Tatodi Dharbandora.
The injured passengers were admitted to PHC Pilem Dharbandora and some were admitted at a private hospital.

The Bengaluru-based family had come to Goa on a picnic by hiring a bus and were returning home on Tuesday. While 17 passengers were from one family, the rest were relatives and neighbours. There were 25 passengers in the bus including children.
The mishap happened at around 11:30 in the morning when the bus reached Thatod, Dharbandora and the driver made an attempt to save stray cattle on the road and lost control over the vehicle and the bus fell on its side injuring the passengers and the driver as well.
Police who were patrolling the highway rushed to the site after learning about the accident and admitted the seriously injured person to the PHC, and nine were then shifted to a private hospital in Panaji. Further investigation is under the guidance of Collem PI Sagun Sawant.
It may recalled that this is second accident within that happened on this route that has happened due to wandered cattle on the road. Herds of stray cattle on the National Highway from Mollem to Ponda is a cause of concern for motorists.
