The Additional Sessions Judge grants conditional bail to Edwin Nunes in connection with Sonali Phogat’s death case

The Additional Sessions Judge, Mapusa
has granted conditional bail to Edwin Nunes against a personal bail bond of Rs
30,000 and two sureties of Rs 15,000 each in connection with Sonali Phogat’s
death. Nunes is not allowed to visit Curlies restaurant and will need to take
permission before leaving the State. Nunes will also have to report to the
Court when called. The High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing for Monday
on a Petition filed by the Goa government challenging the order of the Mapusa
JMFC Court to send Nunes into judicial custody.

The Anjuna Police on August 27 arrested
Edwin Nunes, the owner of Curlies and a drug peddler
Dattaprasad Gaonkar in connection with BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s death, taking
the total number of arrests to four.
