Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said no restrictions will be imposed on religious functions in view of the sound restrictions imposed by the govt authorities. There will be no obstruction from govt authorities on sch functions. Religious functions be it in churches or temples will be held without restrictions.
Goa Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral clarified that permission for midnight masses during Christmas and New Year is not required as the sound decibels emitted during the masses are quite low. He added that the High Court monitors the blatant use of loudspeakers in areas they shouldn’t be used and not for religious ceremonies.
