VASCO: Chaos prevailed among passengers at Dabolim airport on Sunday morning, after many national and international flights were delayed due to dense fog.
According to sources, the fog was so thick that there was zero visibility and the flights were delayed almost for six hours. Five flights were diverted to Mumbai, while one charter flight from London was also diverted to Mumbai, which was later cancelled. When contacted, airport officials said that Air India 184/866 Mumbai-Goa flight was diverted back to Mumbai, while Air India 976 Muscat to Chennai via Goa flight which arrived at 6.30 am was also diverted to Mumbai.
“Air Asia 1322 Bangalore-Goa flight was diverted back to Bangalore, Go Air 375/76 Mumbai-Goa flight was cancelled, while a charter flight from Russia was diverted to Mumbai,” the airport official said.
