Colvale police on Sunday arrested three persons for committing theft of an earth-moving machine. According to Sub Divisional Police Officer Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, an FIR under section 379 IPC was registered after Yamnoor Kadkal filed a complaint, stating that unknown persons stole his earth-moving machine, which was parked in a public place at Madel Housing Board at Madel-Tivim.
Accordingly, after technical surveillance, a team was deployed to investigate the matter. The accused Ravi Chavan, Ravi Rathod from Madel and Prakash Rathod from Tivim, all natives of Karnataka have been nabbed. The accused confessed their involvement in the commission of theft of the earth-moving machine by forcefully starting the machine by over-riding its ignition system. The accused have been placed under arrest and remanded to 3 days of Police custody.
