PERNEM: Pernem police on Tuesday arrested three persons including a Calangute local and two Nepal natives for allegedly committing theft of mobile phones.

According to Pernem Police Station Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, in the month of July, an FIR was registered against unknown persons for committing theft of two mobile phones of one Siddhesh Khorjuvekar, resident of Chapora by smashing the wind shield of his car.
The accused are identified as Sankesh Laxman Chodankar, resident of Calangute; Phurbu Ringi Singe, presently residing at Calangute and Mohan Lal Bahadur Thapa, resident of Candolim and both natives of Nepal. During the investigation, police managed to nab the three accused persons and recover both mobile phones worth Rs 1.3 lakh. Sankesh was earlier arrested twice by Pernem police in theft cases.
