Tiatrists’ fraternity salutes the ‘Kumar’ of Konkani stage for the very last time

Anil Kumar’s mortal remains were cremated at the Margao crematorium on Saturday evening

MARGAO: People from all walks of life bid adieus to noted Konkani tiatr stage artiste Anil Kumar as his mortal remains were cremated at the Margao crematorium on Saturday evening. 
Anil had breathed his last on early Friday morning at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim after a brief illness.
President of Tiatr Academy of Goa Prince Jacob, Dalgado Konknni Akademi president Premanand Lotlikar, Tomazinho Cardozo, MLAs Vishnu Surya Wagh and Reginaldo Lourneco joined a large number of the tiatr fraternity and citizens to bid adieu to Anil Kumar. They paid rich tributes to the deceased tiatrist for his great contribution to tiatr and the Konkani stage and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family. 
Earlier in the day, former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, former PWD Minister Churchill Alemao, GPCC President Luizinho Faleiro and many others visited his residence at Fatorda and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
San Andre MLA Vishu Wagh said that Anil Kumar had created a niche for himself in the world of tiatr. He said the Konkani stage has lost a son and will be remembered by the tiatr fraternity. “Despite hailing from a Hindu family, Anil Kumar not only excelled but created a place for himself in the tiatr world”, he said.
Tomazinho Cardozo said that Anil Kumar was not just an actor, but a script writer and a director as well. “The Konkani stage has lost a great artiste who will be remembered for a long time to come”, he said.
