Residents of Tilari, Khanial, have been protesting against the Tilari Dam and the core mine near their village for the fifth consecutive day. The ongoing protest has attracted the attention of local MLA Deepak Kesarkar, who visited the demonstrators on the fifth day. During his visit, Kesarkar instructed the Chief District Collector to conduct a thorough survey involving the villagers, collect detailed information about the mine’s operations, and take necessary action based on the protestors’ demands.

The villagers have expressed their concerns over the environmental and social impact of the mine, which has been a source of conflict for the community. The spokesperson, Nagraj Naik, stated, “We will continue our efforts until we receive a written commitment from the collector”.
