MARGAO: Noted tiatrist Francis de Tuem has filed an appeal before the South Goa District and Sessions Principal Judge Nutan Sardesai against the order of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao, for release of his two mobile sets attached by Verna police at the time of his arrest on August 9.
It may be recalled that Verna police on August 9 arrested Francis de Tuem at Pai Tiatrist hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, when he had come to perform in a tiatr of Mariano Fernandes. He was charged of having committed offence under sections 384 and 500 of IPC. At the time of his arrest the police attached a Blackberry and a Samsung mobile alleged to have been used to telephone Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco.
After his release on bail, Tuem moved the JMFC court for release of his two mobile sets. However, the JMFC Dvijiple V Patkar rejected his application. Aggrieved by the order of the JMFC, he has now filed an appeal before the District and Sessions Court which shall come up for hearing on September 5.
