Vasco Police Inspector Sagar Ekoskar stated that the operator of the restaurant – located on the first floor of the Vasco residency building – informed them by phone that a few customers were creating trouble in the restaurant. When a police team reached the scene, one of the accused Samir Munaf Shaikh, a resident of New Vaddem, got into an argument with them. He later pushed home guard Deepak Wadkar, who fell on a scooter parked below the restaurant.
“The accused went on a rampage, and after abusing the restaurant staff, also assaulted one of our home guards. One of his friends Inteqab Alam Shaikh, a resident of New Vaddem, was also involved in the scuffle. Both of them were placed under arrest,” said Ekoskar.
