MAPUSA/PONDA: Two people, both motorcyclists, were killed in fatal road accidents in different parts of the State on Monday.
In an accident that occurred at Mapusa, twenty-five-year-old Prathamesh Raghoba Malwanlar of Arpora died on Monday evening, when Zukhaman Madavlal Pun (24) resident of Porvorim dashed against him on his motorbike.
Anjuna police have booked the biker for negligent and rash driving . PSI V Kavlekar is investigating the case.
In another accident that occurred in Ponda, a 24-year-old Pali resident died after colliding with a truck parked at Usgao on Sunday night. According to Ponda police, the accident occurred when Nehal Gavde (24) from Pali was proceeding towards Usgao when suddenly a dog crossed the road. While trying to avoid the dog, he lost control and dashed against a truck parked along the road. The injured Nehal was shifted to Usgao PHC and later to GMC where he succumbed to his injuries.
