PANJIM: Two people including a minor were injured and four others escaped with minor injuries when a jungle tree fell on their rented room at Taleigao on Friday night.

The incident occurred at around 12.10 pm when all the occupants were fast asleep. The tree fall injured Shiva Sahur (35) and Bhumika Rathod (7). Shiva suffered injury to his hand while, the minor girl suffered injuries near her eye. Both were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. There were in all six persons in the room but other escaped with minor injuries.
On receiving the information, the Panjim fire personnel rushed to the site and cut the tree.
The locals informed that this was second incident as few hours before a teakwood collapsed on a car parked underneath.
The tree was later cut by the fire personnel.
