MAPUSA: A couple from Sawantwadi suffered injuries after a Gulmohar tree got uprooted and fell on their bike at Karaswada Junction, Mapusa on Sunday morning.
Rider Shantaram Malvankar suffere grievous injuries while his wife Sakshi Malvankar sustained minor injuries.
Mapusa police station informed that the incident took place at around 11.20 am when a tree came crushing down on a bike causing injuries to the couple which later led to traffic congestion.
The injured were taken to district hospital Mapusa but later shifted to GMC.
