MARGAO, JAN 12
This was a novel way employed by Margao police to discipline erring cops from parking their vehicles in an area reserved for the 108 ambulance service.
Policemen, who had parked their two-wheelers in a slot earmarked for the 108 ambulance, found to their utter shock this evening that someone had deflated their motorcycle tyres.
Realisation later dawned on the 20-odd policemen that the tyres were punctured by their own men as per instructions from the police higher-ups.
It is learnt that the police higher-ups had to resort to this novel, but extreme step, after previous pleas not to park the two-wheelers in the earmarked slot fell on deaf ears.
Faced with no option, the erring police had to literally tow their vehicles to the nearest tyre puncture shop.
