Most parts of the State today received un-seasonal showers accompanied by thunders and lightning. During next twenty-four hours too many places in the State are likely to experience one or two spells of showers, says office of India Meteorological Observatory (IMO) in Altinho.
If weather condition for first half of the day remained humid but post-monsoon showers occurred at many places during later of the day. Some parts received light rainfall however some places experienced heavy showers accompanied by thundering and lightning. Cloudy weather was dominant In Panjim, Dabolim, Sanguem, Pernem and other places in afternoon.
Panjim received heavy to light rainfall accompanied by thunders and lightning in afternoon and cloudy condition continued for the whole evening.
During last twenty for hours Panjim received 29. 3 mm of rainfall, Sanguem taluka also received heavy showers with 21.8 mm, Mormugao taluka received 17.0 mm rainfall whereas Pernem and Dabolim received minimal post-monsoon showers.
Post monsoon showers or medium to heavy rainfall is not totally abnormal as cyclonic season falls in October-November.
