Residents of Margao, Curtorim and surrounding areas were caught by surprise although the downpour and strong breeze, offered a relief to the hot weather of the last couple of days.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that parts of Sattari and Bicholim Talukas received rains on Saturday evening and clouds were approaching further.
With winds speed expected to be 40 to 50 kmph, the IMD urged people to avoid open areas or fields for shelter and other tall structures while lighting is taking place.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Panjim at 33.5 Degree Celsius, which is 1.5 Degree Celsius above normal.
