A Muslim man and an 18-year-old Hindu woman were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Patti Kumharra village on Saturday, police said. The bodies were discovered on the premises of an abandoned house, triggering shock among local residents.
Police identified the deceased as Yazul (20) and Muskan. The woman was found dressed in bridal attire, leading to suspicion that the duo may have taken the extreme step after her marriage was reportedly fixed elsewhere. However, family members of both denied having any knowledge of a romantic relationship.

Chirgaon police station SHO Rahul Rathore said villagers alerted authorities after noticing the bodies. Police are awaiting post-mortem reports and are investigating the matter from all angles. No complaint has been received from either family so far.
