Utpal Parrikar Reacts to CCP Poll Results, Says Outcome ‘Not What We Hoped For’

Utpal Parrikar has responded to the recent civic poll results of the City Corporation of Panaji, admitting that the outcome was not what his camp had hoped for while expressing gratitude to voters and supporters.

In a message following the results, Parrikar thanked the people of Panaji for backing the Ami Panjekar panel during the election. He also acknowledged the dedication of candidates, volunteers and supporters who worked throughout the campaign. According to Parrikar, the initiative helped spark meaningful conversations among residents about better urban planning, transparency and more accountable governance in the city.

While admitting that the final results did not match expectations, Parrikar maintained that the campaign had achieved an important objective by encouraging citizens to actively participate in discussions about Panaji’s future. He also congratulated the winning candidates and wished them success in their responsibilities within the civic body.

Parrikar emphasised that his commitment to Panaji remains unchanged despite the electoral outcome. He said efforts will continue to engage with citizens, highlight civic concerns and push for improvements in city governance. The former MLA added that the dialogue initiated during the campaign should continue so that the voices of Panaji’s residents remain central to the city’s development
