CURCHOREM: The carnival float ‘Uxichem Ghod’ by Rahul Pereira won the first prize in traditional category at the parade organised by Centro Social Anjo Custodio (CSAC) in association with Goa Tourism and Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC).’Goencho Mando’ and ‘Ruchichi Follam’ bagged the second and third prizes, respectively; in Club/Institutional category ‘Save Trees’ and ‘Don’t See Our Disability’ bagged the first and second, while ‘Save the Girl Child got the third prize.
In the family category ‘FC Goa’ bagged the first prize, “Lamanis Keep Goa Clean” and “Family Car” won the second and third prize, respectively. In Clown category ‘Farmer (Statue)’, ‘Save Trees’ and ‘Farmer’ begged the first, second and third prizes, respectively. In Fun/Junk category ‘Super Heroes’ won first prize, ‘Protect Goa from Gambling’ the second prize and ‘Fun/Junk’, the third.
Besides the local floats depicting Goan tradition and conveying public interest messages, 14 professional floats participated in the parade.
