PONDA: Dr K B Hedgewar Vidyalaya, Ponda in collaboration with the Directorate of Art and Culture will organise an all Goa Vande Mataram Mahotsav 2018.
The Mahotsav will be celebrated on December 18 from 9 am to 5.30 pm for district level and on December 19 from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm for State level at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda.
Around 600 high school students from different high schools are expected to participate in the mahotsav.
Addressing media persons, school chairman Uday Tilve said the festival will include elocution competition on the topic “Vande Mataram Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’, which will be held on two days on December 18 at district level and on December 19 for selected students. He called upon schools to send at least two students to participate in the competition.
Sudesh Kavlekar, Shalu Bhagat, Vijaykumar Pendse, Pratharna Naik, Mitha Naik, Sushant Naik and headmaster Surveshwar Bahereli were present.
The participants will be given certificates and travelling allowance and the winners will be felicitated.
Dilip Karambalkar, Editor of “Vivek” will attend the inaugural function on December 18 while Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude will be present for the concluding function on December 19.
