The eight-day festival will have several entertainment events on all the days besides food stall and games for the citizens. This year the theme for the festival is ‘Swacha Vasco -Nital Vasco,’ informed the chairman of the organising committee and MMC councillor Shekhar Khadapkar.
“We want to promote the beach as a tourist spot. The State government is making all effort to beautify this beach and such festivals are one of the motive behind pulling people to the Baina beach,” Khadapkar said.
There is very little for Vascoites to enjoy in the port town. Baina beach is the only tourist attraction. This 2 km beach stretch with islands off it has all the abilities to be promoted as one of the tourism hot-spot in South Goa with a little effort. The festival which started on Saturday will conclude on May 9.
