PORVORIM: With All India Motor Transport Congress declaring a total blockade of all goods transport vehicles to Goa, vehicles carrying milk, vegetables and fruits arrived in Mapusa and Porvorim on Thursday.

According to reports, there was no shortage of vegetables and fruits in Bardez and the prices of vegetables and fruits were also stable. Some vendors said they have been informed that trucks will stop arriving Goa from April 22, if the State government does not roll back entry tax.

“The real shortage will be felt next week if transporters from neighbouring States stop coming. Some dealers go to Belgaum and Kolhapur personally. In such situation, vegetables will be available at a higher price,” said a vendor.
