Even while stressing that no court can give verdict on issue of religious faith, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided not to leave any stone unturned to make sure that ‘all Hindus support the cause of Ram Temple at Ayodhya.’
“It’s easy to meet Kasab (Mumbai carnage accused) but it’s difficult to get darshan of Ram at Ayodhya temple,” VHP’s Maharashtra region organising secretary Prashant Hartalkar told reporters today.
He said that the barricading starts almost three kilometers away and you are checked at six different points. “You can get darshan of Lord Ram for 15 to 20 seconds, that too from 50 feet distance,” the VHP leader said.
The right wing Hindu organization has begun an extensive campaign to make aware people about Ram Janmbhoomi issue in the run up for Allahabd high court order scheduled in September.
Under the banner of Sri Hanumat Shakti Jagaran Samiti, various activities are planned in all the 400-odd villages and almost all the temples to prepare the masses for fight to have proper temple in Ayodhya.
“What we have right now at Ayodhya is a small structure. The plans are to have a proper big temple at that place,” Hartalkar said.
He said that VHP will now adopt all the possible modes to reach out to the youths.
Hartalkar said that there was a need for a strategic shift in the media management policies of the VHP, which included focusing more on regional media and local cable television networks over the “secular” national media and tapping blogs, twitter space to attract the youths.
“The national media is important, but it has now become the arm of the government,” he alleged.
“They are killing our news. Their point of view is so-called secular and anti-Hindu. We must focus on the regional media to put forth our point of view,” the VHP leader stated.
“We must tap blogs and twitter space to rope in the youngsters who spend hours at places like (Cafe) Coffee Day spending hundreds of rupees on coffee. They are completely ignorant of the Ram Janmabhoomi issue. India is a young country and we cannot afford to alienate youngsters in this movement,” he said.
