Surveillance strengthened

PANJIM, AUG 13 Surveillance across the state have been strengthened and the police force have been mobilized in wake of Independence Day celebrations. Police spokesperson Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande told Herald that adequate precautions have been adopted on all fronts.

Surveillance across the state have  been strengthened and the police force have been mobilized in wake of Independence Day celebrations.
Police spokesperson Superintendent of Police Atmaram Deshpande told Herald that adequate precautions have been adopted on all fronts. “We have taken adequate precautions on all fronts and all possible security arrangements/ measures taken are off…We expect the Independence Day celebration to pass off peacefully,” he said.
Even as Goa police has ruled out security threats, the force carried out an extensive ‘full dress rehearsal of parade, security and law & order arrangement’ for August 15.
Superintendent of (North Goa) Police Arvind Gawas said that around 400 armed personnel from different police stations have been drawn who will be deployed at Old Secretariat and Patradevi Martyrs Memorial, where the function will be held
